As-Syahid Izzuddin Al-Qassam (1871 - 20 Nov 1935)
Nama sebenar beliau adalah Muhammad Izzuddin Abdul Qadir Mustafa Al-Qassam. Lahir di daerah Al-Ladziqiyyah, Syria Selatan. Masuk ke Al-Azhar sekitar tahun 1906 pada usia 14 tahun. Sempat berguru dengan Sheikh Muhammad Abduh dan berteman dengan Sheikh Rasyid Redho. Ketika penjajahan kuffar di Libya pada 1911, beliau turut memobilisasi senjata dan para mujahid untuk turun ke Libya. Setiap operasi jihad yang dipimpin oleh beliau di Palestin membuahkan kejayaan besar yang menakutkan Inggeris yang menjajah Palestin saat itu. Beliau syahid dalam satu pertempuran dahsyat di Kota Jenin, bersama 10 orang mujahid yang digempur dengan ratusan pasukan Inggeris yang menggunakan helikopter. Kini, nama beliau disematkan kepada sayap ketenteraan Hamas iaitu Brigade As-Syahid Izzuddin Al-Qassam yang sering dikenal dengan aksi-aksi pelancaran roket Al-Qassam dan operasi Amaliyyah Al-Istisyhadiyyah.
